Most commonly, the E1 fault code occurs when the air filter gets dirty. Many ACs signal the problem via the code after the system has worked for a certain number of hours.
How do I fix that?
To restart the AC, you may need to clear the error first. Please, do the following:
- Make sure the error was caused by a dirty air filter. Disconnect power and clean it.
- This may happen due to sticking, moist or dirty front buttons. Cut off power and repair the buttons. You can use compressed air to do that.
- If there is a thermistor problem, you will need to call a trained technician. Please, do not try to do any work on the unit’s internal parts.
- When you have done all the servicing, restart the system to clear the E1 code. The AC can be used again.
